Writing a letter to your sponsored child
An essential part of our Child Sponsorship Program is communication between you and your sponsored child for you to get to know them, and for them to know you. At long last, this communication campaign is being initiated.
Letters have the power to make a world of difference in your sponsored child’s life. For a child living in poverty, your words bring hope, support, love, and the encouragement they need to believe in themselves and feel valued, despite their circumstances.
We want to help you bring joy to your sponsored child, so we’ve put together an easy template for the first letter. We will then translate the letter prior to sending. The letters will be delivered in person by our mission team, in February or March, and distributed to the children by school staff. Returned letters from the children will be translated, which takes a few weeks, and delivered to you.
To expedite the translation process, please use the letter template that has been designed for you. Printed copies are available at Dahlonega Methodist Church located in the OCES box in the copier room on the 3rd floor. Or, save the image below to your computer and print it out (right click on the image, select “Save image as”. Choose a location on your computer where you want to save the image, and give it a descriptive name.
Just remember: To ensure that both you and your sponsored child have the appropriate level of privacy and protection, please use only first names. Also, if you send a photo of you or your family, please be sensitive not to show too much material “wealth”.
To ensure that your first letter is translated and ready for delivery by the mission team, please return your completed letter and any photo by February 1st, 2023.
